Thanks to one of our former residents, born and raised in St Catharines and Congregation B’nai Israel (Merilee Atos), we have the following article reporting on the opening of the synagogue. Below The Standard write up is a picture of the little girls referred to in the article as they gathered outside in front of the old synagogue building which was moved back for the new structure. We know from careful examination of the picture who some of the little girls are, but it is my hope that some of you reading this or seeing this, will strive to find your own familiar faces from 100 years ago, almost.
