Congregation B’nai Israel Museum
Thanks to the hard work of our resident historian Howard Slepkov, who over the course of many years has collected historic artifacts related to the St. Catharines Jewish community, CBI has been able to open our very own museum. The museum showcases a growing collection of albums, papers and paraphernalia that defines the history of our synagogue and community. It is a living testament to the resilience of the handful of Jews who planted the seeds of our community before the end of the 19th century, to the exuberance of those who helped the synagogue blossom in the 20th century and to the foresight of those who now wish to preserve our past for future generations in the 21st century and beyond.
The CBI Museum was dedicated in honour of long-time synagogue members Harold and Marcia Nash in June of 2023 for their many decades of leadership and commitment to CBI.
We’d love to share this cultural gem with you! Please contact our office to arrange a tour of our museum.
